GK Software Expands Retail Platform for Partner Innovation

GK Software, a provider of cloud-native retail technology and a Fujitsu company, has announced enhancements to its open platform strategy. These advancements are designed to accelerate how retailers and technology partners can build upon and extend the GK CLOUD4RETAIL platform.

The company previewed these developments at the GK Retail Innovation Summit 2026 in Dallas. The initiative expands GK's existing open architecture, providing its growing partner network with faster and more structured access to the platform. This aims to ensure retailers can continuously incorporate new capabilities as their needs and the technology landscape evolve.

GK Software's announcement comes amid demonstrated market strength. The company was named a Leader in the 2025 IDC MarketScape for Worldwide POS Software Platform Vendors in Retail Fuel and Convenience. IDC highlighted its highly configurable platform and strong partner ecosystem within the fuel sector. Globally, GK has reportedly achieved the most new installations among major POS vendors in four of the last five years, including for seven of the top 15 convenience retailers in the United States.

The GK CLOUD4RETAIL platform is designed to be partner-agnostic, utilizing open APIs and a modular architecture for integration with a wide range of technology providers. It offers a resilient core and an open extension layer, providing retailers and partners with a governed, scalable path for ongoing innovation. The architecture is based on five core principles: microservices, API-first approach, cloud-native design, modularity, and configurability.
