Glückstadt Swimming Pool Renovation: Citizen Investment Progresses
The renovation of Glückstadt's Fortunabad swimming pool, estimated at ten million euros, is set to begin in the fall. A portion of the costs will be financed through citizen loans.
The extensive renovation of the Fortunabad swimming pool in Glückstadt (Steinburg district) is expected to commence in the autumn. The municipal utility company plans to finance part of the approximately ten million euro cost through loans from private citizens, aiming to raise one million euros.
To date, around 70 individuals have invested approximately 500,000 euros and will receive interest rates ranging from 3.25 percent to 3.75 percent. The initial payments were reportedly made in June.
According to the city administration, the pool's concrete basins have subsided due to the marshland soil. The renovation plans include relining the old concrete basins with stainless steel, while maintaining the pool's current size. The Fortunabad will also be made accessible and equipped with modern technology.
