Global Figures and Humanitarians Issue Urgent Peace Appeal

GENEVA, July 13, 2026 – The International Spiritual Council for the Transformation of Humanity (ISCTH) has issued a significant call for global peace efforts, urging an immediate focus on dialogue and collective responsibility. The appeal comes at a time of increasing armed conflict, geopolitical rivalries, and ideological divisions worldwide.

Founded to make peace a tangible reality, ISCTH serves as a platform for cultivating peace through dialogue, collaboration, and concrete actions. The latest appeal highlights the urgent need for mutual understanding and shared accountability to achieve lasting peace.

Prominent individuals have lent their voices to the initiative. Dr. Nik Gugger, a member of the Swiss Parliament, stressed the importance of dialogue over escalation. Ján Figeľ, President of FOREF Europe, emphasized that respect for human dignity and fundamental rights is the surest path to sustainable peace. Sajeda Shawa, Head of OCHA in the UAE, expressed hope that leaders will prioritize compassion and human dignity.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama noted that peace begins within each individual and is achieved through compassion, not force. Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Holy See, called for more voices advocating for peace and against the arms race. Maitreya Dadashreeji, the spiritual leader and visionary behind ISCTH, issued a stark warning from India about the existential threat of war to humanity and the planet, urging a role as guardians of the Earth.

Dadashreeji specifically appealed to Russia and Ukraine to reach a resolution for lasting peace, enabling collective efforts for regional and global progress. The initiative concludes with a plea for all decisions to prioritize the protection of human life, dignity, and the future of the shared planet above conflict.
