Global Mazu Culture Forum highlights maritime safety technology

The 11th Global Mazu Culture Forum opened on November 1 on Meizhou Island, Fujian Province, focusing on cultural exchange and maritime technological developments. Notable technical disclosures included the first collection of national marine hazard mitigation cases and the launch of the Mass Conservation Ocean Model (MaCOM) 2.0, designed to assist in disaster prevention.

During the event, a smart meteorological early-warning solution, the MAZU box, was formally transferred to Sri Lanka. Participants also ratified the Meizhou Declaration, which outlines core values associated with the cultural traditions centered on the island.

Established in 2016, the forum serves as an annual venue for addressing topics such as the marine economy, green island electricity, and ecological protection. The event, which included participants from 13 satellite locations globally, continues to promote cross-sector collaboration regarding both cultural heritage and scientific research.
