MACAO – The 12th Global Tourism Economy Forum (GTEF) commenced on Monday at the MGM Theater at MGM COTAI. The forum, which gathers government and business leaders, as well as experts from around the world, is focused this year on the theme "Crisis Resilience Evolution – Building a Tourism Economy for a Shared Future."

The event serves as a primary platform connecting China with the global cultural and tourism sectors. Participants aim to explore strategies for overcoming growth plateaus, enhancing industry resilience, and charting a course for the high-quality development and sustainable transformation of global cultural tourism.

The forum is organized by the Secretariat for Economy and Finance of the Government of Macao Special Administrative Region in collaboration with UN Tourism. The event is supported by numerous national and international organizations, including the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China and various tourism associations.

In his opening remarks, Forum Chairman Ho Hau Wah highlighted the event's significance for the development of the tourism sector and for building global cooperation.
