Western Europe leads regional investment in tunnel infrastructure with a pipeline worth $348.75 billion, accounting for 30.1% of the global total.
North-East Asia follows as the second-largest region for tunnel projects, with a pipeline valued at $292.8 billion. Within the pipeline, projects in the pre-planning stages (announcement and study) total $129 billion, while those in planning amount to $195.8 billion.
Projects in pre-execution phases, including design, tender, and award, sum up to $163.9 billion. The execution stage represents the largest portion, accounting for over half (57.8%) of the pipeline's value at $669.4 billion.
