Gnani.ai Launches Artha Sovereign AI Stack in India

Bengaluru-based AI startup Gnani.ai has introduced Artha, an AI stack that integrates a 30-billion-parameter multilingual language model with a platform for developing AI agents. Artha serves as an India-based alternative for enterprises and government organizations seeking to reduce reliance on foreign AI infrastructure.

The stack combines Evon v3.3, a 30-billion-parameter open-weight model trained in 11 Indian languages, with Plexus, the company's agentic AI platform. Evon v3.3 provides the core language intelligence, while Plexus enables organizations to build and deploy AI agents for specific workflows.

According to Gnani.ai, Artha was developed to address three key challenges faced by Indian organizations adopting AI: data control, the cost of scaling AI, and effective operation across Indian languages and real-world scenarios.

Early customer traction includes interest from five out of twenty participating enterprises at a recent meeting. Potential use cases encompass areas like underwriting, advertising, and payments reconciliation, though these initiatives are still in early stages with Evon not yet deployed.

The launch of Artha aligns with India's broader push for technological self-reliance, as Indian AI firms seek to provide alternatives to foreign models amid concerns over data control and high operational costs.
