GNTM Contestant Marlene: Social Media is Part of the Modeling Profession
Marlene, a finalist from the 21st season of "Germany's Next Topmodel," believes social media is an integral component of a modern model's career.

GNTM's Marlene Highlights Social Media's Role in Modeling Careers
Marlene, who secured fifth place in the 21st season of "Germany's Next Topmodel," has shared her perspective on the crucial role of social media in the modeling industry. "Being an influencer is simply part of it," Marlene stated following the show's finale. She believes that the reach gained through social media is not only a goal for contestants but a necessary element for building a sustainable career.
Marlene, 20, explained that while GNTM serves as a strong launchpad for modeling aspirations, contestants must actively engage with social media. "We would all be lying if we didn't say we did it for the reach," she admitted. However, she emphasized that follower count alone does not guarantee success.
"Now it's about what you do with it. Do you do it right? Then you'll make it. And if you let it slide, the follower numbers won't help you..." Marlene commented. She asserted that social media is now an essential aspect of all public-facing professions, not exclusively modeling.
Marlene herself is satisfied with her career progression post-competition. She attended the final screening event in Berlin alongside fellow contestant Merret. The "Germany's Next Topmodel" series, hosted by Heidi Klum, has been a long-running success. The most recent season was won by Ibo and Aurélie.
