God Of War TV Series Recasts Kratos Due to Actor Injury

Amazon's highly anticipated "God Of War" television series has encountered a significant setback as its lead actor, Ryan Hurst, sustained an on-set injury. Hurst, cast as Kratos, tore his bicep while performing a stunt, forcing a halt to production and necessitating his replacement in the role.

Hurst, known for his role in "Sons of Anarchy," was initially cast in January. Prior to the injury, four episodes of the series had reportedly been completed. Production is slated to resume in mid-October, but Hurst's recovery from surgery is not expected to be completed in time for him to continue.

Consequently, the already filmed episodes will need to be reshot with a new actor, introducing further delays to the show's progression. The series, adapted from the popular video game franchise, centers on the story of the Spartan warrior Kratos. The production, a collaboration between Amazon Studios, PlayStation Productions, Santa Monica Studio, and The Jetty, must now navigate these unforeseen circumstances to move forward.
