Golf Competition Held on Kitzbühel's Streif Ski Slope
Kitzbühel's legendary Streif ski slope transformed into a golf course for the fifth "Golf the Streif" event. The competition saw record participation, including multiple Olympic gold medalists.
The renowned Streif downhill course in Kitzbühel, known as one of the world's most challenging ski runs, recently hosted an unconventional golf tournament. The fifth annual "Golf the Streif" event attracted a record number of athletes and golf enthusiasts, highlighting the resort's appeal beyond winter sports.
Organized by Kitzbühel Tourismus since 2022, the event merges the formidable Streif slope with the precision of golf. Kitzbühel is recognized as a premier golf destination in the Alps, featuring four courses within the town and twelve more in the surrounding area. This status was reinforced by the recent hosting of the Austrian Alpine Open 2026.
The tournament involved teams competing over twelve holes strategically placed along the famous ski run. Special contests, such as Hole-in-One and Longest Drive, were also part of the day's events. The occasion also served for the unveiling of the official poster for the 2027 Hahnenkamm Races.
A significant number of elite athletes, including several Olympic gold medalists, participated alongside professional golfers and avid amateurs. The winning team of the tournament was Elektro Achorner. The next Golf Festival Kitzbühel is scheduled for June 20-27, 2027.
