Golfer Sepp Straka to Open Austrian Alpine Open in Kitzbühel

Austrian golf star Sepp Straka is set to tee off at 7:50 AM on Thursday, marking the start of the Austrian Alpine Open presented by Kitzbühel – Tirol. The tournament, with a prize fund of $2.75 million, is the first appearance for Straka on home soil since 2018, generating anticipation among Austrian golf fans.

Straka will play his opening round alongside Germany's Nicolai von Dellingshausen, the defending champion, and South Africa's Casey Jarvis. Other notable Austrian participants include Maximilian Steinlechner, who starts his home tournament later in the morning, and veteran Bernd Wiesberger, who begins his round in the afternoon.

A new element for this year's event is the "Red Bull Final3" competition. This challenge will take place on the final three holes of the course (16, 17, and 18) during Saturday and Sunday's final rounds. Players' scores on these holes will be tallied separately, with the lowest aggregate score on these six holes winning the Red Bull Final3.

In addition to the tournament's prize money, the winner of the Red Bull Final3 will receive an exclusive experience at the Red Bull Hangar-7 in Salzburg, including a private tour, a "Flying Bulls" aerobatic flight, and a dinner at the renowned Ikarus restaurant. The event further cements Kitzbühel's status as a host for significant sporting events.
