Google Aims to Implement Chrome Updates Without Restarts

Google is pursuing a new method for updating its Chrome browser, focusing on "dynamic patching" that intends to prevent the need for a full browser restart upon update.
The company detailed its strategy in a recent post, emphasizing how AI-powered security tools are becoming integral to identifying and rectifying bugs. Google stated that these AI advancements have facilitated the resolution of numerous issues, citing Chrome versions 149 and 150 as examples, which together incorporated over 1,000 bug fixes.
This surge in identified and fixed bugs is partly attributed to the integration of AI, which has surpassed the cumulative patching efforts of the past 23 major Chrome releases. The company also noted this increased efficiency as a factor in its transition to a bi-weekly release cycle for Chrome.
The move towards non-disruptive updates is expected to enhance the user experience by minimizing interruptions. By eliminating the restart requirement, Google aims to ensure that security patches and improvements are implemented more seamlessly into the daily browsing routine.
