Google allows users to remove AI watermarks
Google has introduced a new setting in Gemini and its AI video generator Flow, allowing users to remove visible watermarks from AI-generated content.
Google will now allow users to remove visible watermarks from images, videos, and music created with its AI tools. With the update, users can toggle off a new "Media watermark" setting within Gemini and Google's AI video generator, Flow.
When toggled off, Google will remove the "sparkle" watermark that appears in the bottom-right corner of content generated by the company's Nano Banana and Omni models. While visible watermarks are now optional, AI-generated content will still have invisible SynthID watermarks and C2PA metadata embedded in the background.
This change provides creators with greater flexibility to share AI-produced material without disruptive visual markers. Google aims to balance transparency with the need for content origin traceability.
