Google Chrome Browser to Integrate Gemini for Form Autofill
Google Chrome Canary is testing a new feature that leverages Gemini AI to automatically fill out forms with user data pulled from services like Gmail and Google Photos.
Google's Chrome Canary browser is currently testing an AI-powered autofill feature utilizing Gemini. This new functionality aims to enable users to populate web forms with information retrieved from their Google accounts, such as Gmail and Google Photos, without leaving the current webpage.
Users can activate the feature by typing '@@' in supported fields or by right-clicking and selecting 'Search and fill everywhere.' Upon first use, Chrome will display a prompt indicating that Gemini is powering the function and will retrieve information from Google's applications.
When the feature is enabled, Chrome transmits the current webpage's title and URL to Google's servers. The company states that information used for form autofill will not be employed for training AI models and will not undergo human review.
This capability is presently in the Canary testing phase, with no official release date announced.
