Google Chrome Update Closes Hundreds of Security Vulnerabilities
Google Chrome's latest update addresses 382 security vulnerabilities, including 15 rated as critical, continuing a trend linked to AI's enhanced ability to find flaws.

Google has released a significant update for its Chrome web browser, patching a total of 382 security vulnerabilities. Among these, 15 were classified as critical, a number nearing the record set by a previous update. This patch brings Chrome to version 150.0.7871.46 for Linux and macOS, and version 150.0.7871.47 for Windows. An update for Chrome on Android, version 150.0.7871.63, has also been deployed, addressing the same vulnerabilities.
Industry analysts suggest that the sheer volume of addressed vulnerabilities reflects advancements in artificial intelligence. Sophisticated AI models have recently become more adept at identifying software flaws, leading to a higher discovery rate of potential cyberattack vectors across various applications.
This pattern is also evident in other browsers, such as Firefox, which has seen a substantial increase in monthly vulnerability disclosures and fixes. While Chrome has had large updates before, the current scale aligns with the growing capability of AI in cybersecurity research and threat detection.
The update is typically installed automatically. Users are advised to check their browser's version information for confirmation. Other browsers based on the Chromium framework are expected to receive similar comprehensive security updates.
