Through partnerships with Hiring Our Heroes, Student Veterans of America, and the Home Builders Institute, Google will provide veterans with hands-on pre-apprenticeship training, career coaching, and job placement support. The program targets roles such as electricians, pipefitters, and project managers, which are in high demand due to factors like AI-driven data center construction and infrastructure projects.
"There is a significant need for skilled trades workers across many industries," stated a Google representative. "Veterans often possess the discipline and aptitude required for these roles, making this a natural fit."
The initiative is intended to bolster the U.S. economy by creating job opportunities and strengthening the pipeline of qualified tradespeople. Google has not disclosed the specific financial investment for the program, but it represents a substantial commitment to workforce development.
