Google Play Accelerator Selects 20 Indian Startups

Google has chosen 20 Indian startups for the 2026 cohort of its Google Play Accelerator India program. This initiative, now in its third cohort since its 2024 launch, aims to support emerging technology companies.

The selected startups operate across diverse sectors, including edtech, healthtech, gaming, agritech, fintech, e-commerce, and media and entertainment. The accelerator offers a three-month, equity-free program, providing participants with hands-on guidance in areas such as AI integration, app quality, security, growth strategies, and monetization.

Aditya Swamy, Google Play's managing director of partnerships, stated that the program's goal is to support founders throughout their journey, from product development and AI integration to scaling their businesses globally. He noted that the 2026 cohort represents the ambition of Indian startups to create reliable and useful products for both local and international markets.

Notable companies joining the accelerator include Chaupal, a regional OTT streaming platform; ChennaiGames, a mobile game developer; Dalvoy, an AI-powered edtech startup focused on competitive exam preparation; and Frontier Markets, a rural social commerce and distribution platform.
