Google Releases Android 17 QPR2 Beta 5 Update

Google has released the Android 17 QPR2 Beta 5 update for a range of Pixel devices. This latest beta version focuses on resolving several reported issues to improve the user experience and device stability.

The update is being distributed in two distinct build versions, catering to different hardware generations. Older devices, including the Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 series, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet, are receiving build CP41.260828.005.A6. Newer hardware, such as the Pixel 8, Pixel 9, Pixel 10, and Pixel 11 series, will get build CP41.260828.004.A8.

Among the key fixes is the resolution of Bluetooth audio problems, specifically addressing noise and distortion that occurred after phone calls or during call接聽. The update also tackles system instability that could lead to device reboots after continuous scrolling in media-intensive applications. Furthermore, it corrects an issue where the system volume slider would not appear when casting media.

Other addressed bugs include visual inaccuracies with Bluetooth device icons in settings, text rendering glitches in search bars, navigation path problems preventing private space unlocking, incorrect activation of the enhanced HDR mode, and touchscreen unresponsiveness when launching Google Wallet via the power button shortcut. Camera crashes during panorama processing have also been resolved.

In addition to these fixes, the update introduces a new "Audio streams" quick settings tile for easier connection to Auracast streams. UI adjustments include renaming the battery settings to "Battery & charging" and adding a new screensaver option within the settings menu.
