Google to Label Ads Created or Edited With AI

Google is introducing a new label to identify ads that have been created or edited using artificial intelligence (AI). The feature will appear in Google's "My Ad Center" section for ads.

With this update, users will see an "created or edited with AI" label under the "how this ad was made" tab. This information can be accessed by tapping the three dots or info button on an ad, which opens a panel where users can also block or report ads.

Google will automatically apply the label to ads generated by its own generative AI advertising tools. For AI-assisted ads created elsewhere, advertisers will need to manually apply the label.

The move by Google aims to increase transparency in digital advertising, providing users with clearer information about how ad content is produced in an increasingly AI-influenced landscape.
