Google TV Freeplay Adds On-Demand Viewing for Thousands of Shows

Google TV Freeplay, the company's free, ad-supported streaming service, has enhanced its offering by introducing video on demand (VOD) capabilities.

Previously, users could only access content through a selection of always-on channels. This update allows viewers to choose specific titles from a library of over 10,000 shows and movies, providing more flexibility in viewing habits.

New titles available for on-demand viewing include films such as 'Lady Bird' and 'Seventeen Again,' alongside reality series like 'Hell's Kitchen.' The service also continues to offer a broad range of live TV content, now expanded to include more than 300 curated channels across genres like news, sports, and reality television. Specific new live channels noted in the announcement include World of Love Island, Yahoo! Sports Network, Bloomberg TV Plus, and The Martha Stewart Channel.
