Google has renamed its AI-powered note-taking assistant NotebookLM to Gemini Notebook, aligning it with its broader AI product branding. The tool gains native code writing and execution capabilities.
Google announced on July 16 that its AI-powered note-taking assistant, NotebookLM, has been rebranded as Gemini Notebook. This change aims to unify the branding across Google's artificial intelligence products.
The company stated that Gemini Notebook will continue to operate as a distinct product but will now play a more integrated role within the broader Google ecosystem, including the Gemini app and Google Search.
A key update for Gemini Notebook users is the introduction of cloud computer support, enabling native code writing and execution. This feature allows users to perform complex data analysis directly on their provided data sources.
This functionality is currently available to Google AI Ultra users and Workspace enterprise clients with AI Ultra Access and AI Expanded Access. Over the next few weeks, the update will be rolled out to all web-based Pro users, introducing new output formats and deeper analytical capabilities.
