Google's AI Note-Taking App Integrates with Purchased Books

Google's AI-powered note-taking application, Gemini Notebook, now allows users to directly interact with books they have purchased. The newly implemented "Expert Intelligence" feature imports titles from Google Play Books into Gemini Notebook, enabling users to ask questions about the content.

Beyond querying information, the application can also generate various forms of content, such as meal plans, infographics, and AI-generated podcasts, based on the material within the books. During a briefing, Google Labs editorial director Steven Johnson demonstrated the tool's capability by creating a recipe book using information from Michael Pollan's "Food Rules." Another example showed Gemini Notebook applying knowledge from Kim Scott's management-focused work.

This functionality expands Gemini Notebook's utility, transforming it into a dynamic tool for research, study, and creative content generation. Users can now leverage their digital library in a more interactive and productive manner.

While Google has not provided a specific release date, this enhancement is expected to significantly boost the app's value for individuals seeking to analyze and synthesize information from extensive written materials efficiently.
