GOP Senate Super PAC Raises Record $273 Million, Boosted by Musk
The Republican Party's Senate super PAC, the Senate Leadership Fund (SLF), announced a record third-quarter fundraising haul of $272.9 million. A significant portion, $158 million, came from Elon Musk.

The Republican Party's primary Senate super PAC, the Senate Leadership Fund (SLF), announced a record fundraising total of $272.9 million for the third quarter. This influx of cash provides substantial resources as the party aims to defend its Senate majority in the upcoming November 3 midterm elections.
Entrepreneur Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, was the largest single contributor, donating $158 million to the SLF in September. This contribution was made through an affiliated Texas PAC supporting Republican candidate Ken Paxton. Musk's two separate donations, totaling $75 million and $83 million, are among the largest political donations ever recorded.
Musk's personal contribution alone surpassed the entire third-quarter fundraising of the Democratic Senate Majority PAC. The SLF's haul significantly broke its previous fundraising records from past election cycles. The substantial financial backing offers Republicans a considerable advantage heading into the final weeks of the campaign season.
The SLF has adjusted its advertising strategy, reducing spending in North Carolina and redirecting funds to competitive races in states like Kansas. The PAC has also committed significant resources to defending Republican incumbents in Nebraska and supporting efforts in Texas, particularly for Ken Paxton's campaign.
