Götene Kyltransporter Adopts Scania LNG/LBG Trucks

Götene Kyltransporter, a Swedish logistics firm, has expanded its fleet with three new Scania G410 trucks operating on liquefied natural gas (LNG/LBG). This initiative signifies the company's continued commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and championing sustainable transport solutions.

"We have a great interest in sustainable development, and I also like new technology," stated CEO Ulf Johansson. The company has now eliminated diesel from its operations, relying solely on gas-powered vehicles. Johansson highlighted the advantage of Scania's solution, which uses only gas in the tanks, simplifying refueling and enhancing environmental benefits.

The new trucks are designed for both urban distribution and overnight line-haul operations. Drivers report an improved work environment due to quieter cabs and a more relaxed driving experience, which has also reportedly led to a decrease in accidents. The company previously incentivized drivers for fuel-efficient driving to further reduce environmental impact.

Götene Kyltransporter, an early adopter of biogas-powered refrigerated transport, also powers its facility with renewable energy from wind power and its own solar panels. The investment in LNG/LBG trucks is part of a broader strategy to embrace the future through technological boldness and innovative practices.
