Gotion Delivers Africa's Largest Energy Storage Project
Gotion has initiated deliveries for Africa's largest AC-coupled energy storage project in Egypt. The first 50 trucks have departed from its facilities.

Gotion began global deliveries on September 28 for what is set to be Africa's largest AC-coupled energy storage project. The company reported that 50 heavy-duty trucks carrying its Gotion Grid 5MWh storage systems have departed from its Jinzhai and Nantong facilities, marking the start of full-scale delivery and setting what Gotion claims is an industry-leading pace for delivery within three months of signing.
The Gotion Grid systems are destined for Egypt's Nefertiti and Horus projects, which will be the country's first large-scale standalone energy storage facilities and, upon completion, Africa's largest. Developed by AMEA Power and constructed by China Energy Engineering Group, these projects aim to enhance grid stability and support the integration of solar and wind power, contributing to Egypt's clean energy goals.
The systems are engineered to withstand Egypt's harsh environmental conditions, including extreme heat, sandstorms, and salt fog. They are designed to provide high-voltage stability, enhanced safety, and millisecond-level response times, which will improve solar energy utilization at the Benban solar complex and enable flexible peak shaving for the Zafarana wind farm.
Gotion stated that its ability to commence shipments within three months highlights its capabilities in large-scale storage integration, global supply chain coordination, and localized delivery. Hussain Al Nowais, Chairman of AMEA Power, noted the significance of the partnership in exploring further opportunities across the Middle East and Africa.
