Grab reports quarterly profit as all segments turn profitable

Grab recorded a profit of 18 million USD in the third quarter of 2026, marking a milestone as all core business segments—mobility, deliveries, and financial services—achieved profitability on a segment-adjusted EBITDA basis.

The financial services division showed significant improvement, reporting 12 million USD in segment-adjusted EBITDA, compared to a 28 million USD loss in the same period last year. This sector is expected to expand further following the company’s planned acquisition of buy-now-pay-later firm Atome.

During the earnings call, CEO Anthony Tan highlighted ongoing integration with Meta’s Muse AI assistant in Singapore. The partnership allows users to utilize AI to build shopping baskets for GrabMart and Grab Dine Out.

As the super-app landscape in Southeast Asia matures, Grab is shifting focus toward maximizing revenue from its existing user base. The company must now demonstrate that it can convert its millions of users into a reliable customer base for banking and lending services to sustain this momentum.
