Gradientech Receives Japanese Patent Office Notice of Allowance
Gradientech has received a Notice of Allowance from the Japanese Patent Office (JPO) for patent application no. 2016-525331, covering core technology for its QuickMIC™ diagnostic system.

Stockholm – Swedish diagnostics company Gradientech announced it has received a Notice of Allowance from the Japanese Patent Office (JPO) for patent application number 2016-525331. The application pertains to the core technology of the company's QuickMIC™ diagnostic system.
The allowed patent, titled "New Use of Fluidic Device," specifically covers the proprietary method for determining the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of a bacterial sample within a microfluidic controlled environment. This technology is integral to the QuickMIC™ system's capability for ultra-rapid antibiotic susceptibility testing (AST).
The QuickMIC™ system is developed to significantly speed up the diagnosis and targeted treatment of bacterial infections. Traditional susceptibility tests can take multiple days, whereas Gradientech's technology aims to provide results much faster, potentially improving patient outcomes.
This patent allowance in Japan marks a significant step for Gradientech in securing its intellectual property globally. The company has previously pursued patent protection for its technology in other key markets.
