Gradientech Receives US Patent Allowance for QuickMIC Test
Diagnostics company Gradientech has received a notice of allowance for its QuickMIC test technology in the United States.

Swedish diagnostics company Gradientech AB announced it has received a Notice of Allowance in the United States for its single-use microfluidic test, a key component of its QuickMIC system. This technology is designed to enable rapid antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) for diagnosing bacterial infections.
The QuickMIC system aims to significantly reduce the time required to identify bacteria causing infections and determine their susceptibility to various antibiotics. Traditionally, this process can take several days, whereas QuickMIC has been shown to deliver actionable results within the same work shift, allowing for faster clinical treatment decisions.
The US patent allowance represents a significant milestone for Gradientech, providing protection for its technology in one of the world's largest markets. This could strengthen the company's market position and open doors for licensing agreements or direct market entry.
The company has also released interim performance data for an expanded gram-negative panel for its QuickMIC system, including testing for susceptibility to specific antibiotics like cefiderocol. Gradientech continues to focus on expanding its product offerings and seeking global regulatory approvals.
