Graid Technology Achieves 100 Million IOPS on Protected RAID 5 Volume
Graid Technology has announced an industry-first achievement of 100 million IOPS on a protected RAID 5 volume for GPU-initiated I/O. This benchmark demonstrates the capability of NVMe storage to meet the demanding scale required for AI and HPC deployments.

Graid Technology has reached a new industry benchmark, achieving 100 million IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second) on a protected RAID 5 volume utilizing GPU-initiated I/O. The test configuration involved 32 KIOXIA XD8 NVMe SSDs.
This significant performance milestone indicates that resilient NVMe storage can now operate at the scale required for current and future Artificial Intelligence (AI) and High-Performance Computing (HPC) deployments. The achievement is particularly noteworthy for environments that demand both extreme performance and enterprise-grade data protection.
The benchmark was conducted using a WholeGraph training workload. Graid's SupremeRAID™ technology leverages NVIDIA GPUs to accelerate I/O operations, aiming to eliminate performance bottlenecks associated with traditional hardware RAID controllers and free up host CPU resources for applications.
Earlier in July, Graid Technology also finalized an Intel® VROC licensing agreement, further expanding its compatibility and integration options within enterprise storage solutions. The company continues to focus on providing high-performance, efficient storage for data center needs.
