Graid Technology Acquires VROC License from Intel

Graid Technology is expanding its storage infrastructure offerings by acquiring licensing rights to Intel's Virtual RAID on CPU (VROC) technology. The company announced it will launch VROC™ by Graid Technology, a product building on Intel's established solution, in the third quarter of 2026.

The VROC™ offering is presented as an actively developed evolution of Intel's former CPU-based NVMe RAID technology. Graid Technology has outlined a 24-month roadmap that includes support for upcoming Intel® Xeon® 6 processors. The company also stated that existing customers will receive no-cost upgrades.

This strategic move aims to enhance performance and flexibility for server and storage solutions in enterprise and data center environments. VROC™ by Graid Technology intends to provide a more efficient solution by enabling RAID functionalities directly at the CPU level, potentially reducing reliance on dedicated RAID controller cards for certain applications.

While specific terms of the licensing agreement were not disclosed, Graid Technology emphasized its commitment to ongoing development and partnerships with OEM manufacturers and channel partners. The company was recently recognized with a special prize for its SupremeRAID™ HE product at Interop Tokyo 2026. The introduction of VROC™ is expected to improve performance and manageability for NVMe SSD-based storage environments.
