Graphic Packaging Q3 Net Income Falls Amid Rising Operating Costs

Graphic Packaging Holding Company posted net sales of $2.19 billion for the third quarter of 2026, matching performance from the same period last year. However, net income dropped to $22 million, down from $142 million in Q3 2025, largely due to non-recurring charges and increased operational expenses.

CEO Robbert Rietbroek attributed the performance to the company's focus on productivity initiatives and structural cost reductions intended to offset inflationary pressures. While the company saw a 1% increase in volume/mix, it struggled with an $83 million increase in commodity and operating costs, leading to a 30% decline in EBITDA to $254 million.

Despite the dip in earnings, the company reduced its net debt to $5.18 billion by the end of the quarter. Graphic Packaging reaffirmed its full-year 2026 guidance, projecting sales of approximately $8.6 billion and an adjusted cash flow between $600 million and $700 million.
