Gravity-1 Rocket Launch Successful, Delivers First Satellite Images
China successfully launched nine satellites using the Gravity-1 rocket. Key "Dongpo" series satellites began transmitting high-resolution remote sensing images just 1.5 hours after deployment.
China's Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center successfully launched nine satellites from a maritime area east of Shanghai using the Gravity-1 carrier rocket on July 22, 2026. The launch successfully placed the "Dongpo" series satellites, including Dongpo 13 and 14, along with several other satellites into their designated orbits.
Optical satellites in the "Dongpo" series, Dongpo 13 and 14, began transmitting their first high-definition remote sensing images just 90 minutes after separating from the rocket. The satellites were found to be in good condition in orbit, with all telemetry parameters normal. These satellites are equipped with advanced AI payloads, enabling rapid on-orbit data processing and high-speed transmission.
