Great Wall Motor tests new 2.0GDIT gasoline engine
Great Wall Motor has successfully ignited its new 2.0GDIT gasoline engine, reporting compliance with Euro V emissions standards.

Great Wall Motor (GWM) has announced the successful ignition of its 2.0GDIT gasoline engine at the company's Power Research Institute. The four-cylinder, 16-valve unit aims to improve power output by 50% over traditional 2.0L engines while simultaneously reducing fuel consumption by 15%.
Engineers integrated eight core technologies, including high-pressure direct fuel injection at 150 bar and an exhaust turbocharger. The design also features intake and exhaust variable valve timing (VVT) and sodium-filled valves to reduce thermal weight. These technical modifications allow the engine to meet Euro V emissions criteria.
Developed in partnership with Delphi Asia Pacific, the 2.0GDIT project follows the recent market release of the GW4D20 diesel engine. The manufacturer intends to use these advancements to improve the efficiency and performance metrics of its future vehicle fleet.
