Great Wall Motors has released the "Hook's Road" special edition of its Tank 300 off-road vehicle, with a limited production run of 300 units. The vehicle is priced at 250,000 yuan.

Great Wall Motors has officially launched the "Hook's Road" edition of its Tank 300 off-road vehicle in China. This special edition is limited to 300 units and comes with a price tag of 250,000 yuan (approximately $34,000 USD).
The "Hook's Road" variant distinguishes itself with enhanced off-road capabilities. It features a solid front and rear axle setup, along with an MTS (Multi-Terrain Select) system offering ten distinct driving modes. Key off-road metrics include a 41-degree approach angle, a 34-degree departure angle, 850mm wading depth, 70% maximum climbing ability, and 245mm ground clearance. It also comes standard with a high-mounted snorkel for improved air intake in challenging conditions like water crossings or sandy terrains.
Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with semi-active anti-roll bars. These can be electronically disengaged via a button inside the cabin, allowing for greater wheel articulation in off-road scenarios. When engaged, they improve on-road handling by reducing body roll, while disengaged they provide better traction in rough terrain, capable of handling obstacles like potholes over 500mm deep or 30-degree side slopes.
Under the hood, the Tank 300 "Hook's Road" is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 170 kW and 400 Nm of torque, mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The four-wheel-drive system includes a mechanical front-axle lock, a mechanical rear-axle lock, and a mechanical center-differential lock, specifically tuned for off-road performance. The vehicle measures 4886mm in length, 1984mm in width, and 1960mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3010mm.
