Great Wall WEY V8X Large Five-Seater SUV Opens for Pre-orders in China
Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor has commenced pre-orders for its new WEY V8X flagship SUV. The vehicle features a new hybrid system and advanced driving assistance capabilities.

Great Wall Motor, a Chinese automotive manufacturer, has officially opened pre-orders for its new WEY V8X flagship SUV. Positioned as a "smart driving control five-seater flagship model" on the "Guiyuan S" platform, the vehicle's initial display and test drive units are now arriving at dealerships across China, though pricing details have not yet been released.
The WEY V8X boasts an exterior design inspired by "Oriental aesthetics." It measures 5125mm in length, 2025mm in width, and 1821mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3050mm. The cabin offers 5.9 square meters of usable space, and the rear cargo area provides 864 liters of capacity, expandable to 2225 liters when the rear seats are folded. The vehicle incorporates nine locations with sound-insulating glass and a triple-sealed door structure, alongside 104 active aerodynamic diversion designs.
Under the hood, the SUV is powered by the "Super Hi4" hybrid system, which combines a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with a four-speed dedicated hybrid transmission. This setup delivers a combined system output of 500 kW and 930 Nm of torque. Great Wall Motor states the 0-100 km/h acceleration time is 4.5 seconds on a full charge and 4.7 seconds in hybrid mode.
The WEY V8X supports 800V+6C ultra-fast charging, allowing for an additional 170 km of range in just five minutes. Equipped with a 66.6 kWh battery pack, it offers a pure electric range of 312 km under WLTC conditions and 402 km under CLTC conditions. The total comprehensive range reaches 1659 km according to CLTC standards.
