The Zhuhai City Gree Vocational School, established by Gree Electric and led by CEO Dong Mingzhu, officially welcomed its first cohort of students on October 4. The school's opening marks its entry into vocational training, aiming to supply skilled labor for the manufacturing sector.

Initial enrollment saw an overwhelming response, with over 8,000 applicants vying for approximately 300 spots. Of the 326 students who completed registration, more than 60% traveled from outside Guangdong province, highlighting the school's broad appeal. The most sought-after specializations were electromechanical technology and refrigeration equipment operation and maintenance.

The curriculum is closely aligned with Gree Electric's industry needs, offering practical training in areas such as intelligent manufacturing, electrical technology, and information technology. Graduates are prioritized for internships and employment within Gree Electric and its associated companies. Tuition fees range from 9,000 to 15,000 RMB annually.

CEO Dong Mingzhu serves as the school's principal, emphasizing a practical, hands-on approach with over 70% of the coursework dedicated to practical skills. The teaching staff includes experienced engineers and technicians from Gree Electric, ensuring industry relevance. Special admission considerations were given to children of military personnel and model workers.
