Green GSM Expands Electric Taxi Service in Philippines
Vietnam-based electric taxi operator Green GSM has launched its all-electric taxi service in Northern Mindanao, Philippines. The service utilizes a fleet of VinFast electric vehicles.
Green GSM, an electric taxi operator based in Vietnam, launched its all-electric taxi service in Northern Mindanao, Philippines, on September 29. The service covers El Salvador, Cagayan de Oro, Laguindingan, Alubijid, and Opol.
The company stated that the launch follows a trial period that began in late August. Customers can book rides through the Green GSM app, a hotline, or by hailing a taxi on the street.
Green GSM claims this is Northern Mindanao's first all-electric taxi service. The operator has previously introduced electric taxi services in Metro Manila, Central Visayas, and other parts of Mindanao.
This expansion aligns with the growing adoption of electric vehicles in the Philippines, supported by government initiatives to allocate franchises for EV-powered taxis, particularly in urban centers like Metro Manila.
