Helsinki โ February 1, 2011 โ The GreenTouch Consortium, a global research initiative dedicated to dramatically improving the energy efficiency of information and communications technology (ICT) networks, today released the biographies of its key speakers. The release provides insight into the consortium's leadership and their backgrounds.
Gee Rittenhouse, Chairman of GreenTouch and Vice President of Bell Labs Research at Alcatel-Lucent, previously led Bell Labs' Technology Integration Group. His research areas have included high-frequency circuits and wireless systems. Rittenhouse is a recipient of the Bell Labs Fellow Award.
Luis Neves, Chairman of the Global eSustainability Initiative (GeSI) and Vice President of Corporate Responsibility at Deutsche Telekom, has been instrumental in promoting the role of ICT in addressing climate change. Under his leadership, GeSI published the "SMART 2020" study in 2008.
Claude Monney, a member of the GreenTouch Executive Board and a senior consultant at Swisscom, specializes in energy efficiency and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). He has been involved in several innovative ICT projects and has published technical papers.
Rod Tucker, a member of the GreenTouch Executive Board and a Professor at the University of Melbourne, leads research teams focusing on energy efficiency for broadband access and passive optical networks. He also served on an expert panel for the Australian government's national broadband network.
