Greta Gerwig's Narnia Film Trailer Released

Director Greta Gerwig, who achieved global success with the film Barbie, has chosen to direct Netflix's upcoming movie, Narnia: The Magician's Nephew. The film is based on C.S. Lewis's sixth novel in The Chronicles of Narnia series.

Gerwig has previously stated she drew inspiration from David Bowie's 1960s era, while also confirming the film will not be a musical. The newly released trailer has garnered attention for its psychedelic visuals and the use of the song "Stairway to Heaven."

The first book in the series, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, was published in 1950. The Magician's Nephew was written as a prequel to explore the origin of the mysterious lamppost in Narnia. Lewis completed the book in 1955.

The Narnia series has seen several adaptations, including a film franchise in the early 2000s. Gerwig's new interpretation aims to bring the series back to the screen with a distinct visual style.
