Groww Co-founders Launch ₹500 Crore Fund for Startup Investments

The co-founders of the mobile investment platform Groww are planning to launch a new fund with a target corpus of ₹400-₹500 crore (approximately $48-60 million) to invest in seed and early-stage ventures.

The fund will focus on the consumer internet and deeptech sectors, according to reports. Groww's co-founders – CEO Lalit Keshre, CFO Ishan Bansal, COO Harsh Jain, and CTO Neeraj Singh – will serve as the fund's general partners. The capital will come entirely from the founders' personal finances, with no external limited partners planned.

The vehicle will operate under Stargazer AIF, which was initially established by the founders in 2023 for their angel investment activities. This operation is now being expanded with a dedicated team responsible for sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio management, operating under the co-founders' supervision.

The fund aims to deploy its capital over the next two to three years, potentially providing larger investment checks than its predecessor. Stargazer's initial fund had a corpus of ₹65 crore, with a maximum ticket size of ₹5 crore.

This move aligns with a growing trend of successful startup founders institutionalizing their investment activities through dedicated funds and platforms.
