GSK agrees to acquire 35Pharma Inc. for $950 million

London, UK – GSK plc announced on February 25, 2026, that it has entered into an agreement to acquire 35Pharma Inc., a Canadian clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company. The acquisition brings GSK's investigational medicine HS235, a potential treatment for cardiopulmonary diseases.

HS235 is an activin signalling inhibitor that has completed Phase I clinical trials in healthy volunteers. Studies are set to begin imminently for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and pulmonary hypertension due to heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (PH-HFpEF).

Pulmonary hypertension is a progressive, life-shortening disease with limited treatment options and a five-year survival rate of approximately 50%. GSK states that HS235 may offer advantages over existing therapies, including a potentially lower risk of bleeding and metabolic benefits.

The terms of the agreement involve GSK acquiring 100% of 35Pharma Inc.'s equity for $950 million in cash at closing. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals in the United States and Canada.
