GSK agrees to acquire oncology company Nuvalent
Pharmaceutical giant GSK plc has entered into an agreement to acquire Nuvalent, a company focused on developing cancer treatments. The deal is expected to enhance GSK's oncology portfolio.

GSK plc has announced an agreement to acquire Nuvalent, a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company dedicated to developing novel medicines for patients with cancer and rare diseases. The transaction is set to bolster GSK's oncology pipeline, particularly in areas addressing specific genetic mutations.
Nuvalent's portfolio includes drug candidates targeting highly specific oncogenic pathways. Two of its lead programs, NVL-500 and NVL-655, are currently in clinical development for certain types of lung cancer and other solid tumors. These candidates are designed to address unmet needs in these patient populations.
The acquisition aligns with GSK's strategic focus on building a portfolio in immunotherapy and oncology. By integrating Nuvalent's assets, GSK aims to accelerate the development and potential commercialization of innovative therapies. Nuvalent's scientific approach and clinical pipeline are seen as complementary to GSK's existing research and development efforts.
Financial terms of the acquisition have not been fully disclosed. The deal is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. GSK stated that the addition of Nuvalent would enhance its late-stage pipeline and R&D capabilities in oncology.
