GSK and DENTSPLY International Partner for Co-Branded Oral Care Products

London, UK & York, PA – January 7, 2011 – GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and DENTSPLY International, a global leader in professional dental products, have signed an agreement to develop co-branded oral care products. These products are intended for use at the dental office by patients suffering from tooth sensitivity, an issue estimated to affect one in three people.

The agreement will allow DENTSPLY to co-brand its NUPRO® products, which incorporate GSK's NovaMin® technology (acquired in 2009), with GSK's Sensodyne® brand. NovaMin® is a patented calcium phosphate technology clinically proven to relieve tooth sensitivity. This collaboration aims to provide a continuum of care for patients, from the dental office to at-home use.

This agreement does not involve any exchange of cash or equity between the parties. Both companies will leverage their technical, clinical, and marketing resources to offer a comprehensive range of treatment options for tooth sensitivity.

In the short term, DENTSPLY will introduce two co-branded products: NUPRO Sensodyne Professional prophy paste for immediate in-office relief, and Sensodyne NUPRO Professional toothpaste, containing NovaMin® technology and high fluoride for enamel remineralization.
