GSK completes Nuvalent acquisition, adding three lung cancer assets
GSK plc has finalized its acquisition of Nuvalent, Inc., adding three potential lung cancer therapies to its oncology portfolio. The deal is valued at approximately $10.6 billion.

GSK plc announced on July 15, 2026, the completion of its acquisition of Nuvalent, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on targeted oncology therapies. The transaction, valued at approximately $10.6 billion, significantly expands GSK's oncology pipeline, particularly in the area of lung cancer.
The acquisition brings three key assets into GSK's portfolio: Zidesamtinib (NVL-520) and Neladalkib (NVL-655), which are investigational treatments for specific types of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) driven by ROS1 and ALK alterations, respectively. Both have received FDA designations for Breakthrough Therapy and Orphan Drug, with target decision dates later this year. The third asset, NVL-330, is in Phase I development for HER2-altered NSCLC.
This move aligns with GSK's strategy to acquire validated assets that address unmet medical needs. The newly acquired therapies are designed to potentially overcome resistance mechanisms and improve upon current standards of care for patients with specific genetic mutations in NSCLC. The company aims to enhance treatment outcomes and quality of life for affected individuals.
Luke Miels, Chief Executive Officer of GSK, stated that the deal completion accelerates GSK's entry into lung cancer. The total equity value of the transaction was approximately $10.6 billion, with GSK's net investment being around $9.4 billion after accounting for cash acquired. The company continues to focus on expanding its oncology capabilities in solid tumors.
