GSK plc reported strong financial results for the second quarter of 2026, with total sales reaching £8.4 billion, a 5% increase, and core operating profit growing 7% to £2.8 billion. The company attributed this growth to the strong performance of its specialty medicines and vaccines portfolios.

Specialty medicines sales saw a 14% increase, driven by gains in respiratory, immunology, and inflammation drugs, as well as oncology and HIV treatments. Vaccine sales also performed well, with an 8% rise, notably boosted by the Arexvy vaccine, which experienced over 100% growth.

The company detailed its strategy to accelerate its research and development efforts. GSK now anticipates initiating over 20 Phase III clinical trial starts in 2026, a significant increase from its previous target of 10. This acceleration is supported by identified growth opportunities across seven key assets in oncology, respiratory, hepatology, and vaccines.

Further underscoring its commitment to innovation, GSK announced the establishment of a new flagship R&D Centre at the Cambridge Biomedical Campus in the UK. The company reaffirmed its 2026 guidance, projecting sales growth of 3-5% and core operating profit growth of 7-9%.
