GSK to Present RSV Research at International Symposium

GSK plc is presenting its latest research on respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) prevention in adults at the 13th International RSV Symposium in Iguazu, Brazil, taking place from March 12-15. The symposium gathers leading experts to discuss advancements in RSV research, prevention, and treatment.

The company and its collaborators will present a total of 17 abstracts covering RSV epidemiology and burden, alongside clinical data for GSK's RSV vaccine, Arexvy. The presentations will also include cost-effectiveness modeling and analyses of how different circulating virus strains may impact vaccine efficacy.

"As a leader in innovation and prevention, we are committed to collaborating with the global scientific community to better understand the challenge of RSV in adults," said Susie Barnes, SVP, Head of Global Medical Affairs, Vaccines at GSK. "To date, over 11 million adults globally have received our RSV vaccine, generating robust data that helps improve public health and protect those at risk."

RSV affects an estimated 64 million people worldwide annually, including older adults and individuals with certain underlying medical conditions. While GSK's vaccine is available in over 60 markets, only a minority of eligible adults have been immunized. The symposium provides a platform to present data aimed at strengthening healthcare professionals' and the scientific community's understanding of RSV risks in adults and the benefits of vaccination.
