GTA 6 Map Area Confirmed Double GTA 5's Size, Adds Hurricanes and Storms
Rockstar Games has confirmed that the map area for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) will be twice the size of GTA 5. The game will also feature an upgraded dynamic weather system including tropical storms and hurricanes.
Rockstar Games has revealed that the game world for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) will be double the size of its predecessor, GTA 5. The title will also feature an enhanced dynamic weather system, simulating tropical storms and hurricanes.
The new system allows for localized weather phenomena, meaning different areas of the map can experience distinct conditions simultaneously. Developers aim to replicate Florida's variable climate, where sunny periods can quickly give way to heavy rain. Weather events are designed to be more focused and last longer for increased realism.
The game includes a fully dynamic cloud system that moves across the map, contributing to diverse weather conditions, from clear winter skies to afternoon thunderstorms. The effects of heavy rainfall, such as water runoff from rooftops and streets, have also been modeled.
GTA 6's state of Leonida represents Rockstar Games' largest map to date, significantly larger and more detailed than GTA 5's map. The region encompasses several key areas, including Vice City, The Glades, and Cape Canaveral. The game will feature over 170 animal species and include a variety of activities, such as skydiving and multiple racing disciplines.
