Guanyu Supplies High-Silicon Batteries for Honor Magic 9 Pro Max

Chinese battery manufacturer Zhuhai Guanyu has announced that it is the supplier of the new battery cells and packs for the Honor Magic 9 Pro Max smartphone, which was released in late September. This marks a significant technological advancement for the device's power source.
The company states that through innovations in negative electrode material formulation and process optimization, the silicon content in the battery's anode material has reached 40%. This increase in silicon content significantly boosts energy density, allowing the Honor Magic 9 Pro Max to feature an 8800mAh battery, a new record for standard flagship smartphones. The battery achieves a volume energy density of 1000Wh/L.
Guanyu also highlighted its development of new specialized binders and low-expansion composite formulas to manage the material expansion inherent in high-silicon batteries during charging and discharging. This innovation is crucial for maintaining battery stability, extending its lifespan, and ensuring safety.
In addition to capacity and longevity, the battery supports 100W wired and 80W wireless fast charging. Guanyu has been a key supplier for major brands, including Apple, Huawei, Samsung, Xiaomi, and Oppo, contributing to various high-end device form factors throughout the year.
