Gucci and L’Oréal Sign 50-Year Exclusive Beauty License Agreement
Kering announced that its brand Gucci and L’Oréal have entered into a 50-year exclusive license agreement for beauty products. The deal is set to become effective earlier than previously scheduled.

Kering has announced that its luxury brand Gucci and cosmetics giant L'Oréal have finalized a 50-year exclusive license agreement for Gucci's beauty products. The agreement is expected to take effect in mid-2027, one year ahead of the original schedule.
The new arrangement replaces the existing license agreement between Gucci and Coty. L'Oréal will leverage Gucci's global desirability and creative vision alongside its own extensive expertise and worldwide distribution network. The partnership aims to unlock significant growth opportunities for Gucci's fragrance and beauty lines.
Coty will receive approximately $400 million for the early termination of its current license. L'Oréal will cover transition costs to Kering, amounting to about 70% of the early redemption costs and inventory. The collaboration is intended to further enhance Gucci's brand equity and deepen consumer engagement globally.
Kering CEO Luca de Meo stated that the agreement creates value for all parties involved and allows Gucci and L'Oréal to begin shaping the future of Gucci Beauty a year sooner. The partnership is expected to strengthen the brand's reach, influence, and desirability across different generations and regions.
