Guerbet and Bracco Imaging Form Global Collaboration on Gadopiclenol
Pharmaceutical companies Guerbet and Bracco Imaging have signed a global strategic collaboration agreement for gadopiclenol, an investigational MRI contrast agent.

French pharmaceutical company Guerbet and Italian firm Bracco Imaging have announced a global collaboration agreement for gadopiclenol, an investigational contrast agent for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
The partnership will cover manufacturing and research and development for future indications of the agent. Upon receiving regulatory approval, both companies will commercialize gadopiclenol independently under separate brand names.
Gadopiclenol is a macrocyclic, gadolinium-based contrast agent that has completed Phase III clinical studies. The companies plan to seek regulatory approval in the United States and the European Union in 2023, with submissions for other regions to follow.
Under the agreement, Guerbet will initially manufacture the active ingredient and finished drug product for Bracco Imaging for up to seven years. Following a technology transfer, both companies will be capable of manufacturing the product. Guerbet CEO David Hale stated that the product will extend the company's MRI solutions and aims to make it available to patients quickly.
Both companies hold valuable intellectual property related to gadopiclenol. The companies are preparing for regulatory submissions based on the completed Phase III clinical trial data.
